Negli ultimi giorni in America è uscito un libro dal titolo lungo ma accattivante per chi volesse conoscere il meccanismo interno della politica americana e in particolare l'organizzazione interna allo staff del presidente Obama.
Il titolo del libro è:" Revival. the struggle for survival inside the Obama White House" ovvero "Rinnovamento. Lo sforzo per sopravvivere dentro la Casa Bianca di Obama".
Ho letto la recensione su un quotidiano e direi che è un libro davvero interessante perchè è scritto da un giornalista esperto, un cronista politico che in Italia sarebbe chiamato "squalo" del Transatlantico, ovvero colui che raccoglie le indiscrezioni dei politici mentre discutono privatamente nel corridoio dal pavimento blu di Montecitorio, giornalisticamente battezzato transatlantico appunto.
Il libro riporta le dichiarazioni ed i fatti accaduti all'interno dello staff del presidente, il magnifico staff che ha plasmato e creato la straordinaria campagna elettorale che ha portato Obama alla vittoria contro la potentissima Clinton prima e Mc Carthy dopo..
Si inizia con il consigliere economico Larry Summers che fu anche ministro economico nel 1999 con Clinton, che si è appena dimesso per andare a ritornare ad insegnare all'Università di Harvard.
Si conclude con il grande capo staff Ralph Emanuel, anch'egli dimessosi a seguito di alcune incomprensioni.
Un altro libro interessante sempre sullo stesso argomento sembra essere quello uscito un paio di settimane fa in america scritto da Noam Chomsky.
Egli appartiene al radical left, ovvero alla sinistra radicale delusa da Obama. Anche in questo caso il titolo è interessante:"America, no we can't".
Raccontano che la parte finale del libro sia una critica feroce ad Obama considerato dallo scrittore "ostaggio di una squadra a sua volta tenuta in pugno dai conflitti di interesse e dal grande capitale, capace di manipolare l'azione del governo orientando i media". Capito bene? "orientando i media"..ma allora non solo in Italia abbiamo un dittatore che controlla le tv e manipola le menti delle persone!

I couldn't confirm it b/c this book isn't on sale ANYWHERE. Maybe it only exists among italian bloggers? The impression I have is that maybe it was saying that Obama is held hostage by the media. Not that he holds the media hostage.
Anyway, anyone who knows anything about american politics knows that the right almost completely control the mass media. Look at the latest numbers:

FNC=Fox news channel. Fox news is owned by Rupert Murdock who is admittedly a right wing nut job lunatic asshole. If he were italian, he would probably vote for Berlusconi. It's true that these numbers are only TV ratings and don't include newspapers, but everyone knows that Americans don't read newspapers anyway. That's why they're all going out of business and filling their websites full of add space mostly for anti-depressants.

Noam is really famous among the left wing bloggers mainstream and obviosly he is appreciated not by me!
tha's why I decided to report his book, for being bipartisan in my post..however it didn't work!
I read the numbers you wrote and more or less are right but maybe you forgot some data: NYT, the most famous and followed newspaper in America as you well know.
It's just like if you reminded me that in italy all the mediapress is with Berlusconi but you don't talk about "La Repubblica": the best Berlusconi's enemy!
You forgot also for what Noam accused Obama: about corporate power, free trade or Conflict of interest in the staff.
Indeed Cabinet Secretary Emanuel "was an administrator at Freddie Mac in 2000 and 2001, while the financial fraud committed in the budget." It's just a first example and if you want I can take note for you more.
Beside that, dear Michele, is really weird that now the Obama supporters are crying against the media when less than two years ago they were totally into for him as you perfectly know.
It's the same freaking play common to our left italian cultural groups: they media are seriuos and good just when they march against the Bad Man...the Caimano.
